"Rodents of Usual and Unusual Size"

Films: Altered Species (2001)

Alias: None

Type: Mutant

Location: Underground/Haunted home

Height/Weight: Ranges from that of average rats to a lion.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: Rats are typically not the kind of animal you want to see crazed and mutated. With all of the rat films that have preceded this one, you'd understand. Now, the mutant rats are worse than ever!

History: While developing a serum that would kill cancer cells, a scientist gave it to a few rats while his dumbass assistant poured the rest down the sink. However, as fate would have it, the serum not only resulted in cancer-invincible rats, but incredibly dangerous and hungry ones too. Also, at least one rat got huge. The party at the abandoned lab is, for a lack of a better phrase, doomed.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: After just about every other rat is killed, the giant rat is taken out after trying to get into a van, only to be engulfed in a subsequent explosion. However, a tarantula was last seen bathing in the serum, for all the good that implies...

Powers/Abilities: Some rats can grow to be quite large.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 2-Rats are cute, there's not hiding that. Sure, we've seen scary giant rats and swarms before, but these rats are too adorable to take seriously. Also, every time we see that giant rat, it looks like a stuffed suit fit for hugging if anything else.

Trivia: -Rather oddly, this film was also referred to as "Rodentz", possibly because they couldn't find a better way to get attention.

-Each year, more than 100 million animals, rats included, are killed for the sake of science. No, that does not mean you donate to PETA, no sane man would do that, it just means that you give these scientists a bad time about it. Better than euthanizing those animals for no good reason, right PETA?!

Seems about normal until you see what they just did.

Starts out ever so simple...
No need. They don't like that stuff, as it turns out.
"Where's...the...CRACK?!
Death by rat hugs...and disease-filled bites.
